Hi,

My GMAT score is 720(Q49/V40).
Engineering - 78.2% from non-IIT, non-REC institute.

I would like to apply to a full time MBA program for FALL 2014.

A few more details about my profile:-

I will have close to 5yrs of experience as an IT Business Analyst (Big 4) by the time i start the MBA program. I lead a team of 4 and will be promoted in 6-8 months to the level of Assistant Manager. Quite a few professional awards. No certifications.

I have some leadership experience in NGOs in Hyderabad. I have also won awards at national level technical competitions during engineering.

Why MBA - I want to get into the Management/Strategy consulting line. B-schools which have tie ups with BCG, Bain, McKinsey, etc will help me achieve this. Or, if a B-school is located in a city with good consulting companies, that would do too. IT consulting would be my backup option.

My current list of schools:

Darden, UVA (Gen Management, Consulting)
Fuqua, Duke University (Consulting)
National Univ of Singapore (Singapore Location)
Goizueta, Emory University (Consulting, Career Services)
Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (At Home :))
McDonough, Georgetown Univ (DC location)
Kelley, Indiana Univ (Happy Students, Alum Network)

It would be great if you can let me know which of these institutes are reach/achievable.
I would also appreciate it if you could recommend any other schools. Do i need to add a few more reach schools ?

Hey there avenger,
First of all fantastic GMAT! Second great that you have REAL leadership! this will be very valuable and is a big selling point for you.

Third, I don't have enough info about your job to REALLY evaluate you (responsibilities, achievements, promotions)... but I'll do what I can.

On your list Duke and ISB are toughest. Some of the others a bit easier (McDonough and Kelly), so if your work experience is very good+ with this list you should have a shot.

You WILL have to hurry up though! :)

One more VERY important thing - BE UNIQUE... You are coming from a very very very tough pool, where many applicants seem similar, and what's worse, write similarly... so THINK first about your unique proposition BEFORE you tackle your essays!

And of course - Good luck.
