School Selection - Help required [#permalink] New post 26 Apr 2013, 15:23
Hi

I am from India and have a total of 8 yrs of work experience - 6 yrs. in IT (Infosys) and 2 as a struggling entrepreneur.
I am looking for Management Consulting career post-MBA.

I secured 740 in GMAT (50Q, 40V) and have been selected in McDonough, Tepper, Kenan-Flagler, Kelley and Mendoza.
(I have received $20k/year scholarship in McDonough and Mendoza).
I was wondering if you could help me decide on the school that would be best for a consulting career ahead.

Please advise.

Thanks

Congratulations! That's a lot of acceptances!

It's pretty difficult to say which program will prepare you best for a career in consulting. I suggest you look at their course offerings in strategy and operations as a starting point. Schools that offer a "consulting" career track are likely to have strong programs for those students wishing to pursue this path. I'd also check out the extracurricular clubs and level of activity/engagement - do they have a consulting club on campus? Is it active? Finally, I'd look at the recruiting stats for last year's graduating class - what percentage went into consulting and which firms did they go to?

Finally, feel free to get in touch with current students and alumni who are pursuing a consulting career path and get their perspectives!

Good luck,
Mili
