D

because on A it mentions "which are consistent" but what is consistent.

D mentions "findings consitent"

Agree with D.
' which ' in A is ambiguos as to what it refers to.
B says that industrial activity is consistent. It should be the findings that should be consistent.
The construction of C is awkward due to ' it's '.

E --> out. Comparing the sediments with growth of industrial activity
A,B,C --> 'balctic sea sediments' is awkward.

D is the best choice
