Score combination for perfect 800 [#permalink] New post 18 Jan 2007, 03:12
Hi,

I don't know if this has been discussed already but just wondering if there is a set score combination for both quant & verb scores on 0-60 scale?

Anyone?

I think it should be q51 and v51.
i scored 790 on the practice gmatprep cd and had q50 and v51 on that.

Thanks for that.

Does that mean you don't have to have all 37 + 41 questions correct to score 800?

I got 50Q/51V on the real thing and got 780. I believe that 51Q/49V might get you 800. I'm certain that you cannot get 800 without 51Q though. I think it can be done without 51V.

its tough to guess how many you can get wrong and still manage a perfect 800. On my practice gmatprep test, i got all questions right in verbal and got a 51, on quant i got 4 of them wrong to get a 50.
so obviously 51 seems to be the limit. Not clear if one get get a 51 with one or two of the questions wrong. My guess is that you can, because the real test has some experimental questions which don't count.

That's a very interesting debate. Do you think GMAC would officially respond to this query if they are approached?

For Perfect 800, see this one:

has-anyone-scored-800-in-gmat-47968.html

Apparently a few folks at Stanford GSB have perfect 800's: http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/mba/admissi ... ile-p.html - which denies the previous myth that GSB dings anyone with 800 automatically :)

And finally my favorite of all times from this troll: got-a-perfect-gmat-score-800-q51-v52-fake-32839.html

Yeah I read the troll post occasionally for fun. Its funny how people responding went from
"that's all good but this one thing..."
"okay but how did you..."
"liar.."
"you piecea s*it"
