I have scored 640( Q48, V28 ) in GMAT on Monday.
Well, I desperatly need help. I belong to Indian IT Male category. Schools that I intend to apply will outrightly reject my application with this mediocre score. I need atleast 70-80 point improvement in my score.
Here are some data point that might help you to guide me better
I took two GMAT prep test in real exam conditions i.e. with AWA and 8 min break in last week of my preparation. Scores were
GMAT Prep 1 : Q49, V34 - Overall 690
GMAT Prep 2 : Q48, V24 - Overall 590
Please give some inputs so that I can improve to Q50 V35-36 level
Hey Prashant,
Sorry to know that you did not get the score you wanted. Your score is very similar to shahideh's score who posted a few days back. I am sending you the link of my suggestion to him/her. For this kind of a lopsided score, I have given how I would approach Verbal if I were in this situation.
verbal-is-killing-me-126091.html#p1029378Also, you are in the Q47-48 range. To go to the Q50-51 range, I think you will need to focus on speed and diverse application. I don't think you would have any so called 'weak areas' in Quant. You just need to practice some serious high level questions and note down the takeaways from the tricky ones. Also, try and wrestle with the question once you are done solving it i.e. if I change 'n is a positive integer' to 'n is an integer', how will my answer change... etc. You will gain a lot of additional clarity on concepts you thought you knew. Also, try using more hands-on logical approaches. They save you time, energy and they build a strong intuition. Say, you want to solve an equation in x where x and (x-10) are in the denominator, you would know the value you should put in to check. Once you develop an intuition for such things, either that or your next guess would be the answer. You would just know how questions are made, what values to plug in, what concepts are being tested etc.
