Scratch pad in GMAT [#permalink] New post 16 Nov 2006, 09:25
Hi,
Can someone who has appeared in the real test share what kind of scratch pad is provided, whether it's erasable and what kind of pen/marker is provided.
Is it easy to work with the kind of scratch pad provided? Also, is the scratch paper space sufficient for the entire quant & verbal?
Thanks.

My understanding [#permalink] New post 21 Nov 2006, 13:57
My understanding is that it is basically laminated graph paper (5 two sided sheets if I remember correctly) and they use Staedtler non-permanent lumocolor pens. I ordered the pens of amazon.com and laminated some graph paper to use while I take my practice tests. Honestly I think it works just as well as paper and a pencil. I just hope this is what they actually use on the test.

The one way I think it would really suck is if you are a lefty.

I agree. I bought an erasable pad to practice. It was very useful to get used to the idea of not using paper. In fact, in the real exam, the scratch pad was better than the one I practiced with. That was nice.

The pad in the exam is not erasable but you can replace it if you have to.

the scratch pad did not bother me a lot. I practiced on paper throughout. The one thing though, that I did not like, is that the steadtler pen dried out in few minutes, so I had to put cap on it every now and then to keep it from drying.

Otherwise, overall I liked the scratchpad...
