Seek Advise - Target 750+ (Current Score 700) [#permalink] New post 11 Jan 2006, 18:47
Hi Guys.

I appeared for GMAT in Sep 2005 & got 700. Now i want to improve my score from 700 to atleast 750. I am pretty confident in Maths (got 49 last time) but verbal is my weak link (35). Can you guys suggest me how to improve my verbal score. Please tell me the best books to get a hold on verbal. How about LSAT books ?

Thanks in anticipation.

I would say that verbal is much easier to improve quickly in comparison to math. What did you have trouble with? Was it RC? If the reading hurt you, find some LSAT reading passages, they seem to be a little tougher than GMAT reading sections. If you can't get any of those, just read different types of things that you usually don't read (medical journals, political newspapers, anything outside of your comfort zone). After reading, try to find the key points like the author's purpose and delivery.

I have found that kaplan 800 helps in reducing timing.

when i started my prep i was averaging around 3:00 mins a CR question.
After doing kaplan 800 my CR timing has gone down to less the 2:00 minutes.
