One journalist noted that, worldwide, authors weigh more on average than lumberjacks do. The journalist claimed, based on this fact, that lumberjacks probably weigh less than authors because they burn more calories doing their very physical work than authors do in theirs.


(A) Lumberjacks tend to have larger families and more children, on average, than authors.

(B) The number of calories burned while accomplishing different physical tasks has been studied extensively.

(C) The number of calories consumed and burned by different professions has never before been studied in detail.

Please explain in detail

i can reach D only by POE since all the others are pretty irrelevant.No clear sign of D being the correct answer acc to me.Can anyone please explain.
