Selection of B Schools [#permalink] New post 07 Nov 2011, 22:20
I need help with selection of B schools for fall semester 2012. My preferred location is Asia, North America and Europe.

GMAT: 710 (Q49, V37)
Undergrad GPA: 7.43/10 in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NIT Calicut in 2009
XII: 91.8% (CBSE)
X: 83.6% (CBSE)
Work Exp: 2+ yrs. (from July 2009 till date)
Department: Quality Assurance
Extra curricular activities: Was a member of IEEE NITC Chapter

I would like some suggestions as which all schools I should consider applying to with my current profile with realistic chance of admission and financial assistance.

Have you checked out NUS and Asian Institute of Management? AIM was founded by Harvard Business School. INSEAD is a good choice for Europe of course and you can't go wrong with LBS either. As for North America, some "off the radar schools" which you might consider in addition to those you already know about are UNC Keenan Flagler, Emory, UT Austin, and Kelley School of Business.

I dont think NUS, INSEAD or LBS are realistic for somebody like me. I would like to have universities where I have a very good chance of getting into.

It's a good idea to have a couple of stretch schools in your application efforts, so I would still recommend picking out a couple of "dream schools" to go along with some safer options. Applications are down overall, which helps your chances in general, and perhaps to some of the better schools specifically.
