Chances are your interviewer has already submitted the interview report, and even if not, there is little likelihood that an email from you at this point will change the feedback submitted to ad com. I think out of basic courtesy, I would follow the principle of better late than never.

Probably change the phrasing of the card more towards a thank you and happy new year! this way it won't seem so dated

Good Call! Something to the effect of:

Dear XYZ,

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for taking the time to interview me as part of my application to ABC. It was great to learn more about blah blah blah. Wish you a very happy new year and a great 2011!

Agreed. I had a company that I wasn't planning to recruit with, but then decided maybe I wanted to and just used something in the news that we'd talked about to reconnect. The person that posted that they've already turned in the feedback thing is right...I wouldn't say sorry I'm late or anything like that, just play it cool.
