Can somebody explain why the answer is B and not A. :?: Thanks

A. and ArthurтАЩs coffin marked with the inscription

D. the inscription that was marked on the coffin of the Arthur
E. the coffin of Arthur had the inscription marked

A is wrong cause it lacks auxiliary verb is.
while B, eliminating AND, suggests gramatically correct construction (absolute phrase), which is among the choices listed is the most appropriate here.
