there is a question in MGMAT SC Guide.

"Voters want to elect a president who genuinely cares about health care, the environment,
the travails of ordinary men and women, has the experience. wisdom.
and
strength of character required for the job."

What will be the correct structure of the answer ?

The book says that the correct answer is

Voters want to elect a president
a) who genuinely cares about
a1 ) health care,
a2) the environment,
a3) and the travails of ordinary men and women

and

b) who has the
b1) experience
b2) wisdom
b3) and strength
of character required for the job.

My question is if that is the case wont we need to have a "the" before health care too ? so that all the three parallels start with an Article.

Hi,

No you do not need 'the' infact a 'the' would make it incorrect.

Each of the other sections are talking about simple nouns 'the environment' 'the people' etc. It could just as well be other words like 'the books' 'the sea' etc

'Health care' is different, it's descriptive of something, ie. the giving of health. The noun would be 'the health care service'
