Service Tax on Executive MBA programs at IIMS??

I just came across a furious debate on twitter hashtag #iimneedhelp. What I could learn from their tweets is that Indian government has imposed 14% service tax on tuition fees at IIMs. It was not clear if the tax is imposed only on one year EPGP programs or on their two year degrees too.
Any recent admits or current students can shed light on this issue? Is it wise decision to tax students who have already left their employment for studying? Some sources claim that more than 80% MBA students in India cover their MBA education expenses through education loans. If this is true then is it ethical to impose taxes on MBA students who are already overburdened with loans.

Service Tax is being considered as applicable to all the one year MBA programs now in India. The last notification gave exemption only to the two year PGP programs, was clear about applicability to the Executive programs (considered as the short term programs) and was silent about the one year programs, thus leading to applicability. Hope this helps. The tax rate applicable this year is 15%.
