Set A and B have equal #'s , Is median in A smaller than mean in B?

A. In A, all numers are consecutive even numbers, in B, all numbers
are consecutive odd numbers.

B. Sum of numbers in A is greater than sum of numbers in B.

A ...not sufficient ...we dont know what the numbers are

B... 1 2 3 4 -1 ,-2 , -3 ,-4 median > mean

2 4 6 98 2 4 10 15 median < mean

Not sufficient

Combine...

say..A... 12,14,16,18 median = 15 B....11,13,15,17 mean = 14

A...-10,-8,-6,-4,-2 median = -6 B... -11,-9,-7,-5,-3 mean = -7

both cases

median > mean

C

is this correct?

thanks

Prat, I would agree with you on Answer C. Here is how I think:

1. The set of numbers in both groups are evenly dispersed, their medians should be equal to their means. Therefore higher mean, higher median.

2. Set A has a higher mean than set B
