I am Indian female with very good acedamics and close to 5 years of work experience in a software company inBangalore. I do not want to write GMAT and want to do my MBA in 2010-11 batch.
I had applied for a few UK colleges for MBA 2010 which meet my above criteria. Of which, I have unconditional offers from few of them and havent heard from the other colleges yet. I am confused to choose the right one for me.
Hi Sindhu (and Neha, if you are reading this),
>> One of my primary concerns post MBA is a good career oppurtunity in UK. As a general rule of thumb, the easier it is to get into a school, the more difficult it is to get a good job.
If you have a good strong profile (good acads, good work-ex), why are you avoiding the GMAT?
>> I have a financial contraint and cannot exceed £20,000 (approx) including my living expenses. When you are saying 'financial constraints', I guess you are talking about personal savings. Most people earning in INR have trouble affording GBP tuition fees. There are educational loans available. All good schools have tie-ups with banks that offer these. So if you target the right schools, finance should not be a huge hurdle to cross.
Also, it's the RoI that counts, right? What are you putting in and what are you getting out of it? Not just in money terms.
So think again before you take a decision based on just the financial part of the story. It's a name that's going to be stuck on your CV for a looooong time.
Think hard before you take the plunge.
Good luck.
