I live in Arizona and will most likely attend a school on the east coast. I have a car but I am not planning to drive it cross country. Did most of you just ship your car? Any good companies that is recommended?

Hey Im from AZ too, Im going to east coast for sure. I have an SUV, so Im planning on getting a uhaul trailer and hooking it up to my suv and drive it cross country. I think shipping will cost anywhere from $800-$1000, whereas gas could cost around $250-$400, depending on your car, plus savings on the $200-$250 one way plane ticket.

It can be very expensive to ship you car across country. Also, it can be hard to guarantee delivery dates. Plus, the pick up and drop off locations might be far from where you are. An alternative idea that you might want to look into. Their are services that will match you with people looking to drive across country. This can be far cheaper than shipping. Obviously the negative is you put a lot of miles on your car, but if you don't care about that it might be something you want to look into.
