I love you guys, for all the enthusiasm and motivation! I used to hang around here almost every hour, today tried to refrain, but could not!! I was feeling quite low, but the enthusiam is definately helpful.

I have not decided whether I will be retaking the GMAT - I am in kind of two minds. I know lotsa ppl who have got into H/W/K/Insead with lower than 700 score, but I think I can definately get more than 700. I know I have done it at home and its this some invisible barrier that is blocking me!! Frustrating. Anyways, I might just end up taking it for personal satisfaction!

Beat the silly test! Then again, might end up focussing on other areas! Still undecided!

Please see my signature.

Oh, we love you too!

Personally, I think you should take it again. Soon. I don't think you can improve much on quant as I think most of it are caused by jitters so focus on verbal. Do you know which part of verbal are your weak areas?

Btw John, what is your split in the scores in both your attempts?

Here are my scores:

ETS: V49 Q34 Total: 690
PV: V48 Q35 Total: AGAIN 690!

It must be the other way round, isnt it.

Or is it really V 49

Good luck in your next attempt, by the way is the new test significantly harder than ETS, if you score the same, might be that the test just got harder.

Hi John...thats unfortunate that you couldn't get 700+ as you surely deserve it. Im saying so as I have seen you answer the most difficult math questions here on this forum and you have been very helpful to others as well. All the best if you do decide to take it again - but honestly with your awesome profile (nominated for MIT inventor of the year...just wow!!) im sure you can get into one of the biggies...

hi,

honnestly I think that with a 690, you will have no trouble with the GMAT hurdle.
I mean that a low GMAT can prevent you from being a potential applicant in many schools but a good GMAT can not make you accepted either.
The objective is to have a good score but except if you really score 750+, you will have to show a lot of other skills, experiences and motivation during all the MBA process to be accepted in any school.
I really advise you to take more time to write your essays, visit the schools, contact alumni and current students, ....I think that it will be more valuable than a 700+.

Good luck

Antoine
