Shortlisting school - 7 yrs - entrepreneur. [#permalink] New post 03 Jul 2008, 16:26
I am quite confused about the "right" schools I should go for. I will highly appreciate some valuable suggestions.

My profile:
Indian Male. 7 yrs work ex (by June 2009) in Internet technologies. Entrepreneur - Co-founded a company that got VC funded.

I want to apply to those schools that give high importance to entrepreneur profiles and can make it comfortable for me to stick to technology industry post MBA.
I plan to put 7 applications
2 dream
3 medium
2 safe

From the dream schools
Chicago
Harvard
Wharton (Chose this because of large size and stress on ent.) - Large size might just give me better chance.
Stanford (Left out simply because it seems far fetched :) )
Kellogg
MIT (Chose this because of its tech bent)

I have chosen the blue colored ones from the above list. Please feel free to comment on these choices as well.

The main confusion is for the rest of choices.

Haas (I think this is an obvious choice for tech + ent - right? )
Duke
Cornell (I am really attracted to its one year program. However, i want expert comments on the program. I hold a masters degree)
Darden
Tepper (This again is a strong tech school. But, its small class size is a concern)
Tuck (Don't know its specialities. But, small class size is again a concern)
UCLA

Following are the European schools i short listed. A big question before I go through the list. Given my inclination towards technology, is it a bad idea to consider european schools? As for the location preference, I would prefer europe to U.S any day. But, I heard one should apply to european schools primarily for consulting/marketing and not for technology.

Insead
LBS
IESE
IMD

Apologies for the long post. But, this sums up my confused state :).
I would really appreciate a reasoned preference order of the aforementioned schools. If there are any schools worth considering and I have missed them, please feel free to add them to the list.

Thanks
na

Large class sizes do not necessarily mean easier to get in. These are all Elite or Ultra Elite schools you're considering. I think it's going to be competitive regardless of class size.

absolutely. I mean easier in relative terms as compared to other ultra elite schools. I just wanted to zero in on two ultra elite schools.
