Should I apply in round 3 to Duke (Fuqua) fulltime MBA? [#permalink] New post 01 Mar 2010, 23:22
Hi
Could you please help me decide whether i should apply in round 3 to Duke (Fuqua) full-time MBA program?
I am a 26yr old male Indian IT (in financial domain)
WE = 6 yrs at matriculation, strong acads, GMAT 770, average extra curricular.

I am looking for a post MBA career in Management Consulting/General Management field in the US. I have submitted round 2 applications to Darden (Interviewed), Ross Michigan (Interviewed), Haas (Nothing yet) and Tuck (Nothing yet). I am regretting not applying to Fuqua in round 2 and seriously considering applying to Fuqua in round 3 but am quite skeptical as to the prospects of an international applicant getting in in the last round. The outlook of receiving a merit scholarship also will be extremely unlikely in the last round although Fuqua is known to be generous with merit-based grants. Can you please advise if I should try my luck or will it be a waste of time and money to try round 3 at Fuqua? Again, thanks for your valued advice.

Given that you have less than a week to apply in Duke's last round, I think it may be tough to pull together a great application. Also, you're correct that much of the merit scholarship money is already spoken for, so if you're only really willing to go to Fuqua if you'll get a significant scholarship, then R3 may not be your best bet.

Good luck!
