Should I apply to Harvard 2+2 and Stanford ? [#permalink] New post 12 Oct 2012, 16:43
Hello guys,

I am currently a college senior at the NYU Stern School of Business. I was thinking of whether I should consider applying to Harvard 2+2 and Stanford Business School for deferred admission. These are some facts:
1. GMAT: 720 GPA: 3.8+
2. Worked in family business every summer
3. Math Tutor,Research Assistant for a class, and Teaching Assistant for another class
4. Enrolled in my school's Honors program
5. VP of a club, secretary of another and also a junior trader in a finance club

I'm really worried whether I stand any chance at Harvard or Stanford. So please tell me if I stand any chance and hence if I should apply.

I believe their 2+2 program is for students who are not from an undergrad business background. Also, I don't think your stats are very competitive at this point, especially given lack of substantive summer internship experience.

Based on what you present, I would say that you are a very good chance at being admitted to HBS 2+2. You seem to have done everything right so far and seem to have the content to write compelling essays, secure strong recommendations and prepare an overall strong application. Stanford is a bit more difficult to predict as I would not recommend applying during college; if Stanford is your goal then wait for a few years after you graduate.
