Should I/How to Build an Alternative Transcript [#permalink]

So I've been following the Forum for a while and decided to finally make an account.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on how to/should I build an alternative transcript for a MScFin program.

I severely overextended myself with extra curricular activities during my undergrad. Not the drinking/socializing kind, although that was part of it, but I was President of and founded my own fraternity. Concurrently I held a VP position (managed 4 large projects) within a national community service organization. I dont regret the experiences but I do regret that my GPA was a 2.46 upon graduation this past December. My GPA is very low, I know, but I have a 720GMAT, all those extra curriculars, a summer internship at Top 10 International Bank my Junior year, and I have worked as a Financial Analyst for a billion+ a year revenue biotech company for the last 6months since graduation.

I was thinking of taking some classes at UC Berkeley extension to bolster my admissions resume. Do you guys think this is a good idea? If so what kind of classes should I take?

If it helps I would ideally like to go to a high mid to upper ranked school.

Thanks in advance for any help. I really need it.

Taking classes can help, especially if you did poorly in math, stats or business. Maybe look into a certificate program. You could also pass the CFA L1 exam which usually removes any doubt that a person can handle an MSF. With a 720 GMAT and solid internship and work experience you shouldn't have any issue getting into a good program.
