Should I re-take GMAT? [#permalink] New post 03 Jan 2013, 15:28
I have taken 700 Q 47 (73%) V 40 (90%) on GMAT. However , I have realized that quants' percentile is weak. The quant is getting more harder day by day. Do you think should I re-take GMAT?

By the way my best score was 680 on GMAT Prep.

I will apply to London Business School.

congrats on the great score.. ,
How many lengthy RCs you got in the exam?
Heard that 3 would be small and 1 would be lengthy..
Regards,
Sach

Hi,
IMO 47 is not a bad quant score , and just a little shy of the 80/80 split.Your over all score is balanced and is at their average of 700. So you don't need to retake.
Having said that the next deadline is around feb 26 or so , if you can complete ur essays, reco's , transcripts ,etc before time and still have time to prepare for gmat (which looks very very difficult) then by all means go ahead, but look for a 730+ bcoz a 720 or 710 won't make much difference.
in any case don't compromise on ur other application components bcoz of gmat re-take. good luck

Congratulations on the great score! I completely agree with bluemints: at this stage of the game, it's best to just take your 700, smile proudly, and focus on making your application as amazing as it can be. It wasn't too long ago that a 47Q was comfortably above the 80th percentile, and it's definitely a strong enough score to eliminate any doubts about your quant skills.

So go write a killer application. :-D Good luck with LBS!

Thanks everyone for your answers. Tips can be said that study as much as you can . Because it is harder than I have ever seen. Not like any tests. Maybe Kaplan will be ok for Verbal and Manhattan Gmat for quant. I can say I saw 4 reading passage and 3 questions each of the paragraphs.
