I received a 710 (46 quantitative (80th), 42 verbal (96th)). AWA 4.5. Should I re-take the GMAT?
I am going for the top 5 (Harvard, Wharton are my 1,2). Also, I've heard 80% is the cut-off for quant. Is this 80 and above, or only 80?
Is there any risk to re-taking? I've heard the top 10 schools only look at the best score?
Other credentials:
5 yrs work experience in big 5 consulting, now a Manager
undergrad GPA 3.8 Big Ten
Outstanding recommendations
Thanks!!!
Don't retake that 710. You are providing plenty of evidence you can do the math. Furthermore the 80% is a guideline, a comfort level. It is
NOT a cut-off.
The downside of a retake is admittedly minimal. Schools may question your judgement. In addition if the score goes down, while they will "count" the higher one, they will also see both.
Good luck!
