From my perspective, the main issue is not the GMAT score but the rest of the application. Can you explain why the GPA is substantially lower than average for elite/ultra elite schools?

thanks for ur reply hjort . I was more into sports during my college days so the gpa is not all that good. i have recently taken a course in fundamentals of accounting and scored an A do u think that will help my profile further more i have been taking classes for gmat in one of hte most premier institutes in my country (should i mention this) .
I am not sure if i shud apply htis year or the next as i want to get into the top notch schools only.

I still see the academic risk as a major problem for elite and ultra elites. GMAT classses are not really relevant to most schools beyong the impact on your GMAT scores.
