Hi All,
I have got 710 (Q48,V40). I got what i was expecting in English but i quants i was expecting around 50 which will land my GMAT around 740.
I am an Indian IT male(2 years work-ex), toughest pool of India and starting with my own business. I will be applying this year. I need you advice on whether i should retake my exam?
I am aiming for Ivy Leagues and mainly Kellogg for Marketing program.
Regards, Thanks.

You're score is already very good, and it seems like you have enough time to improve upon your "weak points" and get the score you want. Either way I think it will be a win win for you. Go for it

Go for it Agree with Yekrut. You have a good score and you can make a decent application and can apply to a school of your choice. Since you have time at your disposal , you can give one more try at it and increase your score . Both way you are in a win - win situation Buddy. +1 kudo for yekrut for a concise and valuable advice.

Yes, I think you have time on your side, so by all means you can work out what brought down your QUant scores and take another shot. This is not to say that you can't get through with your current score, but indeed you have the possibility of raising your scores and crack the 750+ barrier, and sometimes GMAT does become a deciding factor for the interview calls, and even Scholarship decisions (which is very important as per my understanding). When you say this year, I'm assuming you'll apply for Fall 2013, right ?

I get what you're saying. I will try retake the exam and score above 750. BTW, to what extent entrepreneurship helps the profile.

Hi Buddy, Entrepreneurship helps you to diversify your profile. you will be standing out of majority of candidates who are applying working in one or the other company. Moreover B Schools prefer candidates who are / will start a new venture after passing out. I hope my advice suffice your question .

Retake the GMAT if it will help you get to 750 and also be in the reckoning for a handsome scholarship package. Go for it.

Hi, I'll add my two cents to this discussion. Not only should you take it again, but you enroll in Magoosh, and use that before you take it again, because Magoosh has a score-increase guarantee for which you would qualify (see http://gmat.magoosh.com/score-guarantee). Follow the program, then increase to 760 or your money back. We have over 200+ video lessons, covering all the content and strategy. We have 800+ practice questions, each with its own video solution. We will answer any question from any GMAT test prep source, so Magoosh is a perfect complement to whatever materials you have been using already. You may be interested in this 3-moth study plan: http://magoosh.com/gmat/2012/3-month-gm ... -students/This version of the 3-month plan is designed for students, like you, who are already very strong and want to refine their performances.
