Should I specialize in the tax emphasis? [#permalink] New post 31 May 2011, 12:53
My school offers a tax specialization, and I'm considering doing it. However, I don't know if that would limit me in terms of job prospects. I am not quite sure what area of accounting I want to go in (audit, tax, etc.) but wouldn't want to limit myself to any particular field prematurely.

I've also heard from some BIG4 alums that they wouldn't recommend going into BIG4 tax, because the exit options aren't as good as BIG4 audit. Thus, I am just wondering if the tax emphasis would pigeonhole me to BIG4 tax jobs after I graduate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
