If you had low undergrad grades in core courses like statistics, calculus, and the like, then retaking those courses would be a good idea, even given your GMAT score. These core skills courses are the ones B-schools most encourage applicants to take before the MBA. Finance, economics, accounting courses etc. are a different question since they are not B-school "prerequisite" courses. However, if you took finance in college and got a C or worse then retaking it again wouldn't hurt. But your GMAT score goes a long way, and if you never took finance in college there's certainly no need to take it now, especially given your finance job.
Where you take such classes is not of *great* importance, I agree, but obviously you want to take them at the best school you can, just to make the grade as credible and meaningful as possible.
