Should I take the practice tests again?

How did it go? Any takeaways you'd like to share with us?

Went well - got a 740.

Some pieces of advice:

1. Don't get caught up on one problem - I did that and had to panic a bit towards the end as I was running out of time. It is hard to let go of problem and just guess since you know you can solve it given enough time, but then you jeopardize your chances on other problems and just make yourself more prone to errors later.

2. Do practice with full length tests (including AWA) at least a few times before so that you can build up stamina. I had only done about 2 before the actual test, and starting getting tired towards the end of the verbal section.

3. Use the noise canceling headphones provided at the center if they have one. Helped me concentrate better and not be distracted by the noise (people getting up, door opening, new people taking tests etc.)

Other than that, just get it done. It's a great feeling to not have to pick up that orange book ever again (at least for 5 years!).

Congrats for the the score, and thank you for your feedback. But you didn't tell us what you did on the day before and on T-day.

1. Yes definitely going overtime on one question is a big trap. We must remember that we can still score high even if we make mistakes.

2. You are right. I will therefore plan to take at least 4 tests to train myself.

3. Absolutely. I already took the GRE and I had to use the headphones as people come in and out of the room just about all the time.
