Yes, 0 is a multiple of every integer, except 0 itself.

Hello Bunuel.,

Can you tell me why you say "except 0 itself" ?

Sure.

An integer $$a$$ is a multiple of an integer $$b$$ (integer $$a$$ is a divisible by an integer $$b$$) means that $$\frac{a}{b}=integer$$: so, as 0 divided by any integer (except zero itself) yields an integer then zero is a multiple of every integer (except zero itself).

Since 0/0 is undefined, then 0 is NOT a multiple of 0.

Hope it's clear.

I ask bunuel because I can vaguely remember the answer key for some mgmat problems listing multiples of 6 starting with 6 itself ie 6 12 18 which would suggest otherwise...
