Shout Out to HEC Paris and INSEAD for Jan 2009 Intake [#permalink]
23 Jan 2008, 22:15
I just took my first GMAT a couple of weeks ago and am agonizing over the applications now. This is a shout out to anyone else in the same shoes. Let's share our pain.... The schools that I'm targetting are HEC Paris and INSEAD. I'm hoping to make it for Round 1 for both, but so far I have not so much as typed a single word of the essays....

It`s not obvious and i already gave feedback about that Apparently, this is an American domain, which wasn`t immediately obvious to me either.

will be applying to Insead 09 Jan entry...but I am wary of career-switching opportunities into consulting....I heard that most people who go into M/B/B after INSEAD are either at M/B/B before and sponsored by their companies, or already have other consulting experience (accenture, deloitte, booz?). I wonder if its possible to do a complete switch into M/B/B from like a completely different industry.

i have applied to HEC Paris this year and have been invited to interview. I think the school is great, but the oppurtunities in France are not tht good. I am hoping for a dual degree with Stern, to boost my career prospects and also the saleability in EU.
I reused most of my material from other schools. My biggest challenge was the word limit. It helped me a lot to write the essays and then not touch it for a couple of days. On second look, i could eliminate a lot of unneeded details. Also, pick one or two qualities that you want to highlight, which you think are unique.
Also research your financial aid options. The school doesnt cosign a loan, so if you are not from US, then that would be a problem.

Thanks for your input, toDoorNot. I hear you on the opportunities to France. For me, I'm only applying to schools in France (for now) because my husband is French and we have long-term plans to live there....
The dual degree with Stern sounds great. Which intake are you going for?
