this question came from the MGMAT eqns, inqualities, & VIC's in-action question set. i think their OA is wrong (and was poorly explained). i need someone else's validation.. thanks in advance! :)

If each number in a sequence is three more than the previous number, and the eighth number is 46, what is the rule for this sequence?

I'll show my logic and work & their answer later = )

A.P formula = http://www.gmatclub.com/forum/t47969

46 = x + (n-1)*3 ---> x is the first number

46 = x + (8-1)*3

25 = x

hence:

sequence ---> 25,28,31,34,37,40,43,46
