In an effort to go beyond resumes as tools in its search for executives, one leading company has resorted to interviewing the top candidates for a position all together in a single group. This technique is supposed to afford a direct comparison of the candidates with respect to some personal qualities that cannot be gleaned from a resume. Which of the following, if true, casts the most serious doubt on the value of the simultaneous interview technique? A) Resumes do sometimes allow reliable inferences to be made about a candidate's personal qualities. B) The simultaneous interview could become cumbersome if there were a great many candidates for a position. C) The more perceptive the interviewer, the more revealing the simultaneous interviews is apt to be. D) There are certain personal qualities that only an extended simultaneous interview can bring out. E) The simultaneous interview distorts each candidate's response style by inducing stresses unlike any an executive position induces. OA after discussion.

Which of the following, if true, casts the most serious doubt on the value of the simultaneous interview technique? A) Resumes do sometimes allow reliable inferences to be made about a candidate's personal qualities. This doesnt weaken the simultaneous interview but also this is talking about sometimes but not always. B) The simultaneous interview could become cumbersome if there were a great many candidates for a position. This doesnt tell if a large number of candidates are in the interview room, personal qualities are not revealed. C) The more perceptive the interviewer, the more revealing the simultaneous interviews is apt to be. This strengthers that simulataneours interviews can compare personal characteritics and to find out if a person if more perspective etc. D) There are certain personal qualities that only an extended simultaneous interview can bring out. This suppots the simultanerous interview E) The simultaneous interview distorts each candidate's response style by inducing stresses unlike any an executive position induces. Only one left is E. if the interview distorts the candidates response, then all the responses are due to stress levels and cannot find anything other than how a perform might perform under stress. OA after discussion. E

A) Resumes do sometimes allow reliable inferences to be made about a candidate's personal qualities. >> No specifics on simultaneous interviews. B) The simultaneous interview could become cumbersome if there were a great many candidates for a position. >> For me this is not very convincing to doubt simultaneous interviews. This point does not mention about executive positions and so E seems more appropriate answer. C) The more perceptive the interviewer, the more revealing the simultaneous interviews is apt to be. >> Supportive D) There are certain personal qualities that only an extended simultaneous interview can bring out. >> Supportive E) The simultaneous interview distorts each candidate's response style by inducing stresses unlike any an executive position induces. >> Yes. This shows what is the problem with simultaneous interviews for executive positions.

Which of the following, if true, casts the most serious doubt on the value of the simultaneous interview technique?
A) Resumes do sometimes allow reliable inferences to be made about a candidate's personal qualities. It's only more information about resumes B) The simultaneous interview could become cumbersome if there were a great many candidates for a position. This statement casts MOST serious doubt on the value of the simultaneous interview technique C) The more perceptive the interviewer, the more revealing the simultaneous interviews is apt to be. Nothing to cast D) There are certain personal qualities that only an extended simultaneous interview can bring out. Nothing to cast E) The simultaneous interview distorts each candidate's response style by inducing stresses unlike any an executive position induces. This statement dont casts MOST serious doubt on the value of the simultaneous interview technique BECAUSE it's talking about Response style....DONT RELATED WITH THE STIMULUS OA after discussion.

My pick is (E) too.
A) Resumes do sometimes allow reliable inferences to be made about a candidate's personal qualities. >>> we are taking about the value of simultaneous interviews B) The simultaneous interview could become cumbersome if there were a great many candidates for a position. >>> no where mentioned in the premised as to how many in a group can make simultaneous interview cumbersome C) The more perceptive the interviewer, the more revealing the simultaneous interviews is apt to be. >>> supports simultaneous interview D) There are certain personal qualities that only an extended simultaneous interview can bring out. >>> supports simultaneous interview E) The simultaneous interview distorts each candidate's response style by inducing stresses unlike any an executive position induces. >>> simultaneous interview falsifies each candidate's response style which will not give a correct picture of candidate's personal qualities.
