D looks like the best solution to me.

B,C, and E have extrem tones "no one", "only person", and "only way" respectively.

Between A and D, negating A does not really affect the conclusion whereas negating D calls "she will almost certainly appoint Lee" into question.

Going with D as well. Repaying the political debt she owed to lee is more important than whether lee is suitable for the position.
