Six qualified workers can cast 10.000 tons of raw copper in 2 hours. Two apprentices who work 2/3 as fast as a qualified worker are added to the group. Finally, the work is done. How much time has been saved due to the apprentices?

With the new workers, the 10.000 tons of raw copper can be cast in 1,63 hours as compared to 2 hours earlier. Therefore 0,37 hours have been saved

10000=6R2=(6R+4/3R)T, where T=18/11

The time saving = 2–(18/11)=4/11
