I have a question regarding the slide presentation: if I include photos I downloaded from the internet, do I need to worry about copyright issues? Should I put in a reference?

I don't think you need to worry about it, unless you are trying to say you are a photographer and took those pics

I think you should put a reference in your notes, you don't want to risk copyright issues.

The website you take pictures from should say something about copyrights. Either the standard 'all rights reserved', in which case you are not allowed to use them without permission, or 'some rights reserved', or whatever.
