Is there any good historical info out there on what percentage of applicants they interview and finally accept?

Congrats to all those who received invites already!

Yeah...In one of Rod Garcia's interview,he said that they call 800-1000 applicants for interview and then admit around 400 of them.So after you are called for an interview, you have a 50 % chance of getting in.

I'm in Savannah, GA... so the emails have at least come down the east coast from Boston

Just got mine as well. I am from Atlanta, GA. So seems like they are sending these by geographical regions.

Yes, I think there are plenty more invites to come out... not one has been reported on the west coast, in DC, and internationally. Also, very few have come out of Boston or NYC. Seems like they are knocking off some midwestern and southern US cities such as Atlanta and Chicago.

No need to panic quite yet! There will be plenty of time for that later

Interviewees are asked to "please provide an official copy of your transcript to your interviewer (certified or notarized copies will be accepted but subject to verification before matriculation)."

Does anyone know if it needs to be sealed? Or as long as it's official? I have an official copy but it's opened...

Thanks!

"Official transcripts" should be sealed and stamped to be official.
How much time do they give you from the invitation email to the date of interviews?
You should order new official transcripts from schools you attended..

It just seems to me that Sloan only thinks about yield. The application deadline mostly confirms it. Now they are just waiting to see who withdraws their application to interview more people. I consider Sloan as one of the best programs out there, but the way they handle their application process reflects that the admissions committee thinks there are still second or third tier.

Totally agree. Have some more confidence, adcom!

That said, I may unfortunately be one of those people ruining their yield. If by some miracle, I do get accepted (interview next week), my ultimate decision comes down to scholarship $$. I really just can't swallow $100K in loans during this turbulent economy. All my friends tell me I'm crazy but for me, it's about fiscal responsibility. Is anyone else facing a similar dilemma?

wow, haven't been reading this thread for some days and what's up with the bashing about the Adcom office? It's amazing to see how immature and self-centered some MBA applicants are. You've submitted your application before the deadline - good, you've done your part. Now let the school do their job. Just because the school isn't doing the process the way your brilliant minds imagined or preferred, doesn't mean the school is "unprofessional", "unorganized" or "2nd tiered". I understand the waiting is hard, but geez, just chill a bit...

good luck everyone, so now the waiting starts, 4 applications, just need one admission. I feel i will get admitted by booth, it was my best application. My worst were HBS and wharton

Good luck to you too. My best to worst so far went from Tuck, Sloan, Stanford, to HBS. I still have to work on my executive apps for Wharton and Berkeley/Columbia. As Stanford already dinged me, I'm not too hopeful with HBS. I do however feel my Tuck and Sloan apps were really good, so we'll see. Only need one!

Hi all - best of luck to R2 applicants!

I had my interview this week and just wanted to post some insights. None of it is shockingly new though. This is more of a confirmation that the info on the clearadmitwiki is still relevant!

My interviewer was about 5 mins late (I think her previous one ran long) and we ended up finishing 30 mins on the dot. It was a really nice, comfortable atmosphere and I never felt rushed in my answers. All the questions asked can be found on the wiki. I like how the interviewer actually looks through your application and asks specific questions from there. It makes for a more thorough evaluation. On the other hand, it also makes it a tad harder to prepare for as a prospective.

The ONLY question she asked about Sloan/Why MBA was "why did I choose Sloan". There was no questioning into why an MBA given my career path (eh, maybe that was obvious?) or why now. It also does not start in the typical fashion of "tell me about yourself/walk me through your resume". Instead, it starts with "what updates do you have since you submitted your application". I think it is IMPORTANT to have a good answer to this question because it sets the tone and jump starts the conversation.

KNOW your stories front and back, be ready to think on your feet, and take a deep breath! Feel free to PM if you have more specific questions. I try not to give away too much personal detail in case adcoms troll forums...which they do.

Cheers.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread. Have all R1 applicants been interviewed/dinged, or are some people still waiting to hear if they got an interview invite?

According to the adcom, they will continue to release invites until Feb. 6th. My guess is that the majority have been sent out though. I don't know of anyone who has been dinged yet.

Hey guys and girls!

I am a Sloanie 2013, and I am in the midst of a winter internship, which is pretty intense, so I find myself going through this site to remind myself how much worse my situation could be. I certainly feel your pain.
You can ask me questions about last year's process - I will try to check in as often as I can.

Bye for now

Hello again, I am a Sloanie 13' who went through this last year.
So a couple of you asked me similar questions in private messages. Here is my answer:

Last year, the only notifications were made on the decision day. So I wouldn't expect anything before Feb. 6. I think you get an email at 5pm EST saying that your status has changed on their website, and then you go and check. The whole experience is quite intense, and to make it just a little bit worse for us last year, they had a glitch and only posted the decisions at 7pm EST...

You will also get a phone call from a current student, but that will only be after the online status has changed. That's how it was for international applicants last year - I am not sure about domestic.

Just a disclaimer - this is how it was last year, so I can't guarantee this will be the same process this year.
I would not make any special inquiries if I were you, since these people are very busy at the moment and they might not appreciate it. Just hang in there for just a little bit longer.
