Hi all,

I would like to know whether there is much difference between applying in Round I and applying in Round II?
According to the MIT Sloan Website, they admit half in Round I and half in Round II. However, Round I has fewer candidates. Hence, applying in Round I should be better.
But I want to know if the chance of being admitted is significantly different between two rounds?

Thank you very much.

Theoretically, R1 v R2 should be about the same.

The difference in # of applications is arguably off-set by R1 tending to have a slightly higher percentage of highly qualified candidates.

Most people say that the difference between the two rounds is minimal, and to submit your application when it's ready.

I was able to create an account earlier for the 2012 application. I've been checking from time to time and I was only able to view the "create an account" button today in the online app link.

After browsing through the application form, the essays originally posted by str1der are the same as what I'm seeing right now. As such, can these be the 2012 essay questions already?

Thanks.

Thanks chromium73! Seems like all are the same except essay # 3. Overlooked that one.

If anyone has seen/has an access to the recommendation questions as well, appreciate if you post them in this thread also.

Go to 'My Profile' in the upper right and go through and fill out the screens. GMATClub recently re-did the profile interface, so if you entered your schools before this change, they won't be hyperlinked.

Where are the essays in the application? There doesn't seem to be a place in the application to attach/copy&paste your essays. Odd....

Guys,
from what you read/learned, how big/likely are Sloan's scholarships? As per my info, that is one toughest schools in that respect.

I talked to a current student, and apparently there are no scholarships whatsoever, even for the most brilliant. MIT offers a part-time job as an Assistant Teacher, which pays around 18000$/year, that's all. Also, MIT has a guaranteed loan for eveyone who is admitted.

Thanks, that is virtually the same that I heard and that unfortunately puts MIT to the back of my wishlist (:
