@purpleshirt - Thank you for the waitlist information! I'm trying to feel hopeful, not discouraged.

Congrats to all of the admitted students!

I couldn't agree with you more, though you can add "white US male with anything other than consulting or IB on resume". I spent 10 years across 2 big companies building a resume I thought would be worthy of these schools. I've lived some of the businesses cases these schools teach. I was the only person in those positions who didn't already have an elite tier MBA. I've done years of strategy work on decisions as big as $2B. Yet, I was told in a ding report that my experience is "boring" simply because of my titles. How more superficial can you get?

Putting the sweeping assertions in your post to one side...

I hate to say this, but at 10 years work experience, you're pushing the top end of the typical profile of MBA students. Not that it's impossible to be admitted, but it's definitely an uphill struggle. No adcom would ever mention this as a factor in ding feedback to you, but looking at the work experience distribution of most schools would likely confirm this.

Have you considered an Exec MBA, which may fit better with your profile (or.. in any case, will be in a year or two)?

Edit: example age profile for HBS is at: http://www.bschooladmissionsformula.com ... anford-62/ - this shows that at HBS, 76% of the class had between 3 and 5 years work experience.

Do u know anyone who got one? If yes, when do they let the student know?

when should we receive the info about the admit portal.
For some reason my Gmail account doesn't receive any email generated by the MIT app system (checked spam as well). I never received the interview or Status Change emails. But i do receive emails sent personally by the MIT adcom. Really weird.

Same problem with toiysam :|

Since I submitted my application last January, I have not heard any mails pertaining to decision from Sloan. I have received only Sloan circulars through GMAC and some surveying email with links. Weird.

Should I contact the school to learn what's going on?

Best wishes,

well i noticed that even though my emails were correct in the application (which is why i receive their "manual" emails), my email in the website was my old email.
In the intranet, at the bottom click update info. Check if you that email is correct.

Anyways, did they already sent the AdMIT portal email?

Checked my page in online application portal.

Although I checked as you mentioned, correct email address was punched in. When my application and recommendation letters were submitted, I received the notice at my gmail account.

I went through the official mba admission website, too. It says, "**Decisions will be released early for some candidates who will be denied admission without an interview." Deadline already passed for R2, and what's going on?

I just wonder how everyone here who was notified of final decision got a notice from Sloan. Definitely not expecting admission since I was not invited for interview yet.

Best wishes,

@jacobychoi, I received both my interview and decision notices by email. No phone calls ever, possibly because I'm overseas.

Is anyone else waiting on a decision for Sloan R2? I've called the office the last 2 morning only to hear that they are "still working on it". I feel like I'm getting the run-around. We are now 2 days past the decision date. What the heck is going on?

Have any round 2 wait list applicants received additional details on next steps? The initial letter said we'd receive information by the 6th. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something!

Hey guys,
I think i will take on Sloan's offer and pay the deposit. The thing is that they still haven't mentioned anything about scholarships yet, so I am afraid that if I pay the deposit they won't have any incentives to offer me anything since I would attend anyways. The only reason I want to pay the deposit is to be able to enter the first on-campus housing lottery round.

What are other R2 admits doing regarding this?

Has anyone from R1 sloan matriculated Admits got a notification that the background check is over? It's been a month since they started my check but I still have no info whatsoever. They contacted both my university and my current employer already. Just wondering....

I was contacted by the verification company to help them get a hold of my past employers. After I provided all the info, I followed up on the status and this is what I was told:

"There are different associates or managers who may work on your file from employment to academics, etc., on behalf of your school. If I have contacted you regarding employment verification, I may get back to you with some follow-up. It is not our policy, however, to convey to each student the overall status of the total verification, but the university's upon completion for their students. In general, if you are not hearing from us, you may assume that all is going along well."

Thank you so much for the answer! Good to know! I thought maybe there's a problem with my employment history or something. I guess I should stop worrying, but that's just so hard when you get this far

Hi, for guys that were waitlisted. Do you guys hear anything back from Sloan after sending in additional materials? anything at all? like a quick confirmation of receipts? I've sent an update email to them but not sure if they have received it at all.

When is the deposit deadline for R2 admits? I'm planning to send my update just before then so it's fresh in their mind.
