So if the drop dead date is past and you still havent heard, then it is over? Or will they at least intimate you?

Yep - sounds like it. I just called the admissions office and they said that basically once your drop dead date passes, you are just removed from the list of eligible candidates but they don't send out any other notification. And sorry, I didn't ask anything else about the wait list (numbers remaining, whether any were admitted, etc).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but thought you guys would at least appreciate the info. Just got an email from admissions saying that the 2014 class is oversubscribed and they're offering deferrals to the first 20 admitted students who ask for one

Hmm... Interdasting... Are you considering the offer? :-D

On a serious note, who else out there is still an active member of the waiting list and holding out until 9/1?

I heard that they are actually offering "scholarships" to admitted students who take the deferral. Can anyone else confirm this or provide a range of the offer? I was considering it but not sure if it'd be worth it!

Interesting. I saw that they offered $8K for MFin students who took the deferral last year:

Of course, that's a different year and a different program.

Thanks for providing the data point! Very interesting. I'll make a swag that they are offering between 10-20k for an MBA deferral. Now add in the guranteed offers for some WL to the class of 2015, spots for next year are already getting spoken for quickly!

No one yet. I've been fairly optimistic up to this point, but by all accounts, the odds are very low now.

Re: Sloan 2012 - Calling MBA All Applicants [#permalink]
well at one point i thought about accepting the deferral (if i got a huge scholarship) but then i realized that the cost of waiting a year is actually higher (also i already had resigned and moved to cambridge).

I know some people who deferred are taking a year off travelling the world...
