Essay 3 in Sloan's application asks for the following:
Please tell us a time when you advocated for a position. What alternatives did you consider? Describe in detail what you thought, felt, said, and did (500 words or less).
What is your take on this? What are they looking for? What do you see as being asked 'beyond the question'?
Beyond the question:
1) You identified a vision or solution that was your own (leadership)
2) You came up with something solid (analytics possibly)
3) You communicated it sucessfully (communication skills)
4) You considered alternate viewpoints (maturity, teamwork)
That would be my take.
