So where you applying? [#permalink]
21 Jul 2006, 05:14
Here's my list.
1. HBS
2. KGSM
3. Chicago GSB
4. Yale
5. University of Michigan
6. Georgetown (backup)
Time permitting, I'll also try apps for Wharton & MIT.
I'm going to try to get as many done in R1 as I can - for sure the first 4 on that list. R2's will probably be Michigan and Georgetown.

1. HBS
2. Stanford
3. MIT
4. Wharton
5. Kellogg or Columbia
First four round one, then I may apply to the other two. But by then I'll know the results for Wharton.
Have a great vacation, Rhyme!

Is wharton rolling? When do they release their accepts for R1?
Please take HBS off your list so I can get in

Wharton is not rolling, but the notification for Round I is Dec 22, which is before Round II is due for most schools. I'm only going to apply to Kellogg or Columbia Round II if I don't get into Wharton.
We can both get into HBS - we fit totally different profiles. HBS is beautiful, though. Looked at the campus today.

very good point.
I'm applying to HBS R1. I thought I'd be finished with the app by now, but everyday I see areas for improvement. I hope all this work will be worth it.
good luck to all

i am hoping for the same.
as of now, i am working on chicago for R1.. Not even done with the goals essay.. but I think I am done with 2 out of the three 100 word essays..
On top of hte essays, there is the application material that you have to fill up online.. which is a pain.. I just looked at it the other day, and I got scared.. I was going to leave the online stuff for the last week, but it looks like more than just:
GMAT
REsume
Essays
Transcripts
Recommedations
Lot more information online too!!!
have fun!
I wish lot of the background information could be just one pdf file commong for all schools that could be uploaded.. and just the essays were different... this sucks.. each school has its own online application file!

If you think Chicago is bad, you should see HBS.
They want me to list month and year of extracurricular activities while in college. Seriously, who remembers what MONTH they joined some club? Even remembering the year is hard enough.
Yes, dont wait until the last week - I started on this immediately, theres all sorts of information they ask for that you might not know. Mom's undergraduate university, dads graduate school, etc. Some of these take time to get.

Yeah I am curious.. How do you apply to so many schools? I am overwhelmed by the work required for applying to even 1 school.

Who you asking, me?
I'm applying to five. Its a ton of work yes, but I work on them constantly. An hour or so at work over lunch, maybe two or three hours a night at home each day, and usually six to ten hours on weekends. All told I probably put in about 25 hours a week on them.
So far, its taken me about 100 hours for the first app. Second app will take me about 50 - almost done. I expect my third to take about 35.

Trying to if I can.
Four deadlines are all mid October, the fifth (a backup) is December (even for R1) so I think I should make it. My top three schools are definetly a must finish by R1.
I'm actually more concerned about my recommenders slacking and not coming through in time than anything else.

This is a major concern for me too. Somehow, I can't go & push them like I do at work

I'm trying to be nice and "remind them" - they are both senior people with limited time, but I'm growing increasingly concerned their recommendations will be slapped together at the last minute. If I had to do this again, the very first thing I would do is start the recommendation process.

Good advice guys, I haven't even met my 2 recommenders, just talked to them over the phone. This weekend is time to take care of business.
