Analysing my error log
it seems I have some difficulties with solving "simplifying algebraic expressions"
. Can anyone help me where I could find some clear explanations how to solve these kind of problems? (I have all the MGMAT books
). I simply can't solve the problems...
I'm happy to respond.
The funny thing about math: it all happens in the details. Math is all about precision in the details. Knowing that you have trouble with "simplifying algebraic expressions" tells me almost nothing about your particular strengths and shortcomings. I would strongly recommend --- if you want to improve that question type, then post each question as a separate thread here in GC club (make sure the same question isn't already posted), show your work and how you thought about the problem, and ask experts to comment on what you are missing. You are more than welcome to send me a p.m. with a link to any question in which you want my input.
Here are some blogs you may find helpful:http://magoosh.com/gmat/2012/foil-on-th ... expanding/http://magoosh.com/gmat/2012/algebra-on ... to-factor/http://magoosh.com/gmat/2013/three-alge ... -the-gmat/http://magoosh.com/gmat/2013/gmat-math- ... -variable/http://magoosh.com/gmat/2013/gmat-math- ... uare-root/
In particular, that blog about the "three algebra formulas essential for the GMAT" discusses three algebraic patterns that you really have to be able recognize cold. You may find some missing pieces in those blogs, but I imagine you will have to post some of your own work to get direct feedback.
For free, here's an algebra PS question:http://gmat.magoosh.com/questions/2616
I hope all this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.
