Some Ideas on this topic please? [#permalink]
07 Dec 2006, 15:12
This is an essay topic. Can you all throw in some ideas please?
Which recent development, world event or book has most influenced your thinking and why?
When they say recent, how recent they have to be? Something like in 2001 - will it be treated as recent?
Thanks

I'd say that recent in this context means the last 6 months to a year. 2 years would really be pushing it.

2001 would be a good choice. I think when they mean recent they don't want you quoting the Bible or WW2, etc.

thadi,
It's really hard to suggest a topic for this Oxford essay. It's about your personal experiences, what "moved" you, what inspired u, and so on. I have no idea what your profile is, but I would try to think about teachers that may have changed your life with sthg they did or said to u, maybe an event that took place in your job or that you watched on TV or read about it that made u look at things differently, a book that has changed your perspective of such and such subject, or maybe u being next to Bill Gates or Tiger Woods made u the kind of competitive person u are now...
Anyway, I'm sure that u've been thinking a lot about it lately. Best of luck!
