Agree with A. "having been prescribed" and "having been taken off" are parallel. Initially, I was inclined to B, but "being taken" and "having prescribed" did not seem logical to me.

EDIT: Now, I know why E is wrong. In A, the "having" was throwing me off.

Between (A) and (E), I will pick (A). "they" in (E) is ambiguous. Correct me if there is more that I should be looking for in (E).

Choice C is similar to B, E for the incorrect verbs using. 'Having' is for verb cont., so 'being' in these sentences is stand-alone. Choice D is incorrect as the action is still continuous, which leaves A as the best answer
