B=A/5 => A=5B
A=B/4 => B=4A

A+B = 4A+5B = 4A + 5(4A) = 24A
B=4A

B/(A+B)=4A/24A=1/6

Quote:
A+B = 4A+5B = 4A + 5(4A) = 24A
B=4A

B/(A+B)=4A/24A=1/6

Here I disagree with you.

Why ?

if I change the equation to
A+B = 4A + 5B = 4*5B + 5B = 25B

Hence B/(A+B) = 1/25.
So the solution is not unique.

A/5=B/4

the total number of people A+B-A/5=B+4A/5=2B

B/2B=1/2

i guess..it is easy if you assume some numbers...which is divisible by both 5 and 4 ..say 80 as total number of people..
agree with 1/2.
