Hi mates, IMO AAlthough the plants' yield is less, the associated cost will also decrease. B out: it doesn't add anything that lead us to think that there will be more profit (the yield still remains low) C out: it's the opposite, requiring more fertilizer will decrease the profits D out: same reason as in B E out: same as in C OA? Cheers

Tough choice between A and D. But, D is weak for two reasons. First, number of plants almost doubling will not ensure profit also doubling since the yield per plant will reduce. Moreover, this is also an explicit information in the argument.
A is correct because, it additionally supports the cost savings and hence potential to double the profit.
