2 tourists cycled towards each other,1 4m pt A nd the other 4m pt B.the 1st left da pt A 6 hrs later than da 2nd left B,nd it turned out on their meeting that he had travelled 12 km less than da 2nd. after their meeting,they kept cycling with the same speed,nd the 1st tourist arrived at B 8 hrs later nd the 2nd arrived at A 9 hrs later. find the speed of da faster tourist.

can you please reconfirm if the answer is 4?? I am getting 4 for 2nd tourist and 6 for 1st tourist

well this is what I could get on solving

Initially, time travelled by A was 6hrs and by B was 12hrs (6 + 6hrs)

now with speed of A as 6 he travelled 36kms and B with speed of 4 travelled a distance of 48kms. So at meeting point A had travelled 12km less than B. Now B will take 36/4 = 9 hrs to reach point 1 and A will take 48/6 = 8hrs to reach point 2

so A is faster tourist having speed as 6km/hr
