A for correct idiom and ||ism

Idiom: "Less...than"

Sitting...or seeking

I feel the answer should be E only coz the sentence is talking about a comparision b/w Paris and St John so instead is the key word here so only choices left are D and E.

E makes more sense than D

A and C are the two little devils.
On analysis C uses less likely...., more likely....., without specifying the basic set of actions for each.
This is done by the use of "than" in A.

The final "to be" in C makes the sentence awkward.

(A) must be it.

In E, or to be seeking violates the parallelism.
