What about Midwest? This waiting blows. Especially because my whole office knows I applied and keeps on asking me my status.

Yes, definitely the worst bit about applying! If I don't get in, I will feel somewhat embarrassed

I'm loving the fact that no one in my office knows that I applied for this very reason. I think it helps remove some of the pressure.

Beat the GMAT forum has also been quiet. However, I think this is the case when you are talking about a top school that just doesn't interview that many people. I mean - take a look at the Harvard R1 interview stats (22 interviews ~9%). I think this are a bit more reliable because people have had time to update (if they plan to) where as, it's harder to get a read when the invite trickles out. You're excited, but the forum is kind of slow.

I'm still hopeful for all of us though. Impressive stats and still SEVERAL weeks to go!

My intention was to keep it as quiet as possible, but once you start asking for recommendations I just found it impossible to keep it on the d-low...

The Stanford thread is always relatively quiet (compared to say Harvard). If you look at last years people try to deduce things from how many people post on the GMATClub thread. It's a waste of time I reckon - the GMATClub sample size is not only tiny, but extremely biased and not in a way that would be conducive to hordes of invites.

I think the best assumption with Stanford is that there is a relatively steady stream of invites until end of November, with a bias towards invites in more obscure regions earlier on. You would have to assume it tails over markedly once December hits, although clearly some invites still go out.

I also tried to keep quiet, but the result was inevitable... not only because of recommendations but also people reading my essays for me, general asking for advice, etc. Plus in general everyone here wants to know what your plans are for the next year. Sigh.

Does anyone know how many interview invitations Stanford typically sends out? Is it a 50% acceptance ratio more or less post interview?

900-1000, this has been discussed many times. They accept fewer than 50% of interviewed applicants over all.
