Come on, everyone! Way too early for the dejection. In the past he calls as late as 8pm, and sometimes even Wed morning. The man also has to take a break at some point! Calm down. Breathe. Posted from my mobile device

He wants to show the admits how dedicated they are at the GSB.....just what a little birdie was saying.

I’ve found that when someone tells me how sure they are I’m going to get into great school X, I thank them politely and then try to point out that only Y out of every 100 applicants are admitted. For Stanford, if you put 100 cream-of-the-crop b-school applicants in a room, 6 of them are admitted. That’s insane. I’m not trying to turn this into a pep talk, but you guys should be proud that you put yourself out there and took the shot. Much respect – you’ve got more (bigger?) cojones than I.

jimmyzhang2012 wrote: Shawshank wrote: j23hughes wrote: I heard if you have any colors on transcript its an automatic ding.....same with missing page numbers This is absolutely true. I know a guy who applied to stanford gsb last year: 3.95 gpa from a top ivy, rhodes scholar, mckinsey, and founder of a major non-profit that helps orphans in Africa, 790 GMAT. He got dinged without an interview because he uploaded his official transcripts, which have colored backgrounds. Truly a shame. An impressive background does not mean a good essay, a good reference letter etc. Given the small size of GSB class, within the consultant pool he might be beated by other BCG/McKinsey consultants. I uploaded colored copy of my transcirpts also; I am going to drop a note to the admin com for official answer. Personally I don't think top business school would judge candidates in such naive way. Will update here if any response. Wow. I just assumed that it was obvious to everyone that I was totally being facetious. To seriously answer the question, no, you're not going to get dinged because of this. Just send an e-mail to admissions and let them know. GMAT clubbers have a tendency to obsess over the smallest details. RELAX.

About 20 minutes before the deadline, so I'm inclined to believe them when they say it doesn't go by when you submitted, haha.

dwal44 wrote: Does anyone know if Stanford ever breaks their, "No feedback on applications" policy? I was denied after an interview R1 and am considering reapplying in the future. My interviewer thinks I should contact admission and ask.
I am in at Booth, but my company is now offering me some sweet incentives to stay for another year or two. Plus, I could bring up my GMAT and continue to build my startups on the side. Bird in the hand? Go for greatness? Arg. I think you should ask - worst case is you get told no. Your second point is interesting. I think it would be impossible for anyone but you to decide! I wouldn't get lured by your company's sweet incentives though. I would think about the original reasons why you decided to pursue an MBA and ask have those fundamentally changed. I think you would have more luck developing a startup while at Booth, as opposed to while at your current job. Booth is an awesome school - do you really want to resit GMAT and go through this all again in two years!
